Facility Maintenance Repair I



The Facility Maintenance Repair I Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on facility equipment and infrastructure. This position supports daily operations by assisting with mechanical, electrical, welding, pipefitting, and maintenance activities while maintaining compliance with all safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) requirements. The role works closely with senior maintenance personnel and may operate various types of equipment when properly trained and certified.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.
  • Rebuild pumps and complete basic mechanical repairs.
  • Assist with welding, electrical work, pipefitting, and tool maintenance.
  • Follow all facility safety procedures, SOPs, and Lock Out/Tag Out requirements.
  • Support larger maintenance projects under the direction of senior maintenance personnel.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, bobcats, and other equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Assist with inventory and supply management for maintenance operations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0–3 years of maintenance, mechanical, or industrial experience.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • OSHA 24- or 40-hour training (or ability to obtain).
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • DOT training.

Preferred:

  • Basic welding experience.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Basic pipefitting experience.
  • Pump repair or rebuild experience.
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
  • Heavy equipment operation experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions during repairs.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and enter/exit equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment while following all safety requirements.
