Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of all buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure. This role ensures facilities are well maintained, compliant with regulations, cost effective, and supportive of business operations by leading maintenance staff, managing vendors, and implementing preventative maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and oversee all facility maintenance operations, including plumbing, structural, and grounds maintenance
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff and coordinate work assignments
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire, safety, environmental, and local building regulations
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and address repair needs in a timely manner
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and control costs
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and asset documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership on facility planning, upgrades, renovations, and space utilization
  • Support sustainability initiatives and facility efficiency efforts

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities or maintenance operations, including supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of building maintenance practices and safety requirements
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and service contracts
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and fieldwork
  • Exposure to mechanical rooms, outdoor areas, and active work sites

Pay Range - $60k - $70k annually DOE
