Job Description

This position is responsible to assist the shop by running parts, washing trucks, fueling, inventory control, light janitorial, and assisting mechanics with other duties as needed. Will need to display professional and courteous attitude with customers, vendors and team members.

Knife River is looking for a dependable Shop Laborer whose primary job duties will include:
• Daily cleaning of shop/warehouse
• Consistent lifting of 50+ pounds throughout the work day
• Assisting with parts running/pickup as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Maintain good attendance and safety record and set an example for others to follow.
  • Overtime may be required
  • Communicate effectively to co-workers, management, suppliers, and others you encounter.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
  • Must have a “Safety First” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.
  • Must have good mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to operate small hand tools.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

  • Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, mists, adhesives and acids.
  • Hand eye coordination.
  • Frequent and/or extended periods requiring standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing, and/or twisting.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
