Job Description

Glacier Fish Company is dedicated to producing the highest quality frozen-at-sea groundfish products in the world. We are one of the largest producers of frozen at sea cod and pollock, and distributes seafood throughout the world. We manage two trawl catcher-processor vessels that operate in the Bering Sea and off the coast of Washington and Oregon. Come join us with one of the many exciting job opportunities available!

This position is responsible administering the parts and inventory maintenance system for the Company and for ensuring that Company office building and warehouse have their physical structure maintained and repaired in a timely and cost efficient manner.  May conduct repairs personally or supervise outside construction vendors who perform remodeling, additions, maintenance service, and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, janitorial, general grounds, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, security, and electrical systems. 
 
Primary Responsibility:
  • Administrator and main point of contact for TM Master work order, parts inventory and maintenance system.
  • Utilize TM Master to maintain vessel and office maintenance/inventory parts system.
  • Provide training and support on TM Master system, including fielding questions and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Responsible for and coordinates renovation, repair and general maintenance or projects or minor problems throughout the facility ensuring minimal business interruption.
  • Maintains inventories and ensures timely replacement of required spare parts, units, tools, chemicals and equipment necessary to keep the facility in proper, efficient operating condition and to meet state, city and Seattle port regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and update preventative maintenance records and perform service when needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for cleanliness and general functionality of the property by managing cleaning and property maintenance vendor.
  • Approve, hire and oversee vendors ensuring that smaller-planned projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and stay within the pre-approved budgets.
  • Write technical scopes and project manage work for competitive bidding on large building maintenance projects.
  • Manage Facilities Department budget and capital improvements.
  • Responsible for the overall maintenance, building code compliance, and occupational safety of the office building, warehouse and property.
  • Responsible for implementation and adherence to safety requirements, inspections, and policies and programs within the department.
  • Oversee storm water and all permitting for the property.

Education & Experience

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Business or related technical field preferred or experience in lieu of education acceptable.
  • Preferred 3+ years’ experience in facilities or building management of like size property.
     
  • Experience working in and/or administering maintenance parts inventory systems preferred.
     
  • Experience in similar industry preferred.
  • Experience overseeing vendor or contractors preferred.
