Job Description

The individual in this role is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the company premises through the performance of various tasks and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operating pallet jacks.
  • Scrubbing the warehouse machine floors, dusting, and removing trash.
  • Mopping, sweeping, and cleaning up spills.
  • Scrubbing the warehouse floor once a day, and the Shipping and Receiving floor area twice a day.
  • Sweeping outside the loading dock doors once a week.
  • Dust sweeping the perimeters of the warehouse.
  • Wiping down sinks and eyewash stations and restocking paper towels as needed.
  • Promptly cleaning up spills that occur throughout the day.
  • Ensuring the cafeteria and break areas are stocked with paper supplies and removing trash if necessary.
  • Emptying trash cans outside the building and in the break areas.
  • Cleaning around the compactors outside the building.
  • Participate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
  • Comply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety-conscious culture.
  • Follow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in operating a rider floor scrubber.
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment - Pallet Jack
  • Skilled in working with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Possesses effective verbal communication skills

Work Environment

This role involves working in both a professional office environment and a warehouse setting. In the office, standard office equipment such as computers, laptops, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines are utilized. In the warehouse, standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, cameras, and forklifts are used.

Physical Demand Description

  • Standing Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position
  • Walking, Reaching and Handling Must be able to frequently move about inside the warehouse to access product and machinery, etc. Must be able to stand and walk 60% of time, lift up to 40 lbs. normal, up to 70 lbs. less than 10% of time.
  • Seeing Frequently reads various documents and operates computer and other office tools/databases/equipment.
  • Talking and Hearing Frequently communicates with colleagues, co-workers, and customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Manual Dexterity Frequently operates a computer and warehouse machinery.
