Standard Office Hours (40/wk)

Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Warehouse, Working at heights

As a Facility Cleaner you will ensurecommon areasof the manufacturing facility and warehouseutilizeddailyare cleaned and sanitized within Good Manufacturing Practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform daily cleaning of production, lab, warehouse, office, and washroom areas of the facility as per the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

  • Daily upkeeps general areas including dusting, window cleaning, polishing of fixtures, along withmanagecustomer requests for cleaning, waste disposal, moving, and other miscellaneous facility requestsin a timelymanner

  • Perform waste disposal and recycling services.

  • Accurately sign all Good Manufacturing Practices cleaning records and documentation.

  • Ensure regular replenishing of all facility dispensers including paper, soap, andproductiongarments.

  • Maintain inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies.

  • Leadand complete facility projects such as stripping and waxing floors, cleaning of air diffusers and exhaust grills, etc.

  • Handlethe disposal of waste from dust collectors.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.

  • Perform alternating or rotating shift work (asrequired)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in janitorial services.

Preferably:Previousjanitorial experience in a GMP environment, pharmaceutical or food processing environment

Equivalency

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge,Skills,and Abilities

Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)Ability tomaintainaccuraterecords of activitiesSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionFamiliarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.Demonstrated computerproficiencywith Microsoft Office programsProficiencywith the English language.

Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.  Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems tomaintaina smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.).Be client and patient conscious at all timesUnderstand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team byidentifyingareas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactivelyidentifyareas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner.  Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in relatedfield   

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust,loudnoise, bright lights,fumes,orodour Use of Personal Protective equipment isrequiredand may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator.

Compensation

The estimated annualized pay range for this position in Ontario is $36,608.00–$54,550.00.
