The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a Part-Time Facility Attendant to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Parks and Recreation department. The Part-Time Facility Attendant earns a competitive salary of $14.78-$15.68 hour based on qualifications. We also offer access to the city's recreation fitness center and employee assistance program.

Availability: M-F 4:45 am- 10am, 10am- 2pm, & weekends.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PART-TIME FACILITY ATTENDANT

The purpose of this class within the organization is to monitor activities and perform services at the Pearland RCN to prevent accidents, provide assistance to customers, and maintain the operations of the facilityThe facility attendant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the RCN in the absence of full-time managing staff.

This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Essential Functions

• Supervises the conduct and behavior of all members and guests that occupy the building to ensure their safety, health, and wellness as well as others.
• Reads the Facility Attendant binder, specifically the communication log in order to know all current information pertaining to the facility prior to the start of their shift.
• Prepares the facility for opening day, all classes, reservations, activities, programs and events as well as closing facility at the end of the night. Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with the Parks & Recreation core values.
• Opens and closes facility.
• Inspects the facility every half hour for safety concerns, maintenance issues and cleanliness. Documents all necessary situations with factual information, such as incidents, injuries, building leaks, etc. and report to the proper full-time staff.
• Performs some custodial duties.
• Restocks supplies and inventory.

Additional Duties

• Acts as the employee fill-in when RCN part time employees do not show up for scheduled shifts and contract addition staff to cover as needed.
• Assists in Kids Korner or at Kiosk to help provide support and assistance during busy times in each area.
• Adheres to department established behavior policy.

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Requires one (1) year closely related experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

• Valid Texas Driver's License
• CPR required (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
