YMCA of the North Shore
The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our members and community.
As a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y relies on its facilities team to keep operations running smoothly. In this role, you’ll complete maintenance tasks, respond to work orders, and support preventative maintenance efforts across the facility.
🛠️ What You’ll Do
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and light construction
- Complete preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
- Maintain outdoor grounds (landscaping, snow removal, general upkeep)
- Assist with aquatics maintenance, including pool systems and water quality
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies
- Conduct regular facility inspections for safety and cleanliness
- Track inventory and order maintenance supplies
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors
- Partner with facility leadership to support daily operations

Qualifications

Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent experience
- 5–10 years of facilities or maintenance experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance standards
- Preferred: OSHA certification and/or trade licenses
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
💪 Work Environment
- Active, hands-on role requiring lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Work indoors and outdoors across multi-level facilities
- Requires the ability to respond to urgent or emergencies
