Job Description

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

Hyperloop Plaza is a multi-use destination featuring a café, bar, retail spaces, food vendors, and entertainment areas. Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general handyman work within qualifications
  • Troubleshoot and repair furniture, doors, shelving, fixtures, lighting, and other property equipment.

  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate more complex repairs with appropriate technicians when necessary.
  • Assemble and install furniture, shelving, signage, and other fixtures.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving tables, chairs, tents, signage, and equipment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Flexible availability for occasional evenings or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, or repairing kegerators, draft beer systems, refrigerators, freezers, and small appliances.
  • Experience maintaining commercial kitchens, bars, restaurants, or retail facilities.
  • Ability to read basic construction plans, take accurate measurements, and estimate materials needed for projects.

About The Boring Company

To solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic, roads must go 3D, which means either flying cars or tunnels. Unlike flying cars, tunnels are weatherproof, out of sight and won't fall on your head. A large network of tunnels many levels deep would fix congestion in any city, no matter how large it grew (just keep adding levels). The key to making this work is increasing tunneling speed and dropping costs by a factor of 10 or more – this is the goal of The Boring Company. Fast to dig, low cost tunnels would also make Hyperloop adoption viable and enable rapid transit across densely populated regions, enabling travel from New York to Washington DC in less than 30 minutes.
