A skilled Critical Facilities Technician is needed to support the operation and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure at a data storage facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems that support continuous data center operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and chiller systems, including cooling towers, pumps, and air handling units
  • Monitor and maintain electrical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, and distribution systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
  • Respond to alarms, system failures, and emergency situations in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in data center operations, industrial maintenance, or critical facilities
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Chillers and HVAC systems
    • Electrical systems and troubleshooting
    • Mechanical maintenance and repairs
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Willingness to work on-site, including shift work, weekends, and on-call rotations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, energy, or industrial facilities)
  • EPA certification or equivalent HVAC credentials
  • Electrical or mechanical trade certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working in a high-availability, fast-paced environment
