Job Description

As an equipment repair facilities technician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance for mobile equipment (forklifts, manlifts, boom lifts, etc.) in the plant. The Mobil Equipment Repair Technician is expected to regularly interact with Production and other plant personnel in bringing about mobile equipment use improvements.

Through proper execution of maintenance activities, he/she helps to improve overall effectiveness of equipment to meet the Business Unit goals. To accomplish this requires skills and knowledge in related technical areas which may include, but are not limited to the following: mechanical, electrical, electronic, control systems, pneumatics and vacuum technologies.

The Mobile Equipment Repair Technician is responsible to follow site safety, health and environmental programs and policies.

Qualifications

  1. Inspect all forklifts daily to ensure operational use.
  1. Diagnose and repair non-operational and damaged mobile equipment.
  1. Maintain records on all preventative and repairs on each piece of equipment.
  1. Analyze equipment or system failures to determine malfunction. Decide on proper repair action. Discuss findings with area operators, leadership, other technicians as need to find immediate & long-term solutions.
  1. Provide the technical expertise in new project development and develop adequate testing criteria for newly installed systems.
  1. Evaluate facility mobile equipment for safety in the form of JSA’s. Observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations and other CAPI Environmental Health and Safety programs.
  1. As a member of the facilities department, help identify training needs, conduct training and evaluate the effectiveness.
  1. Conduct parts procurement; evaluate equipment for part supply and stocking.
  1. Assists in the training of other technicians, cell leaders, and operators as needed.
  1. Frequently work independently, repairing and conducting preventive maintenance.
  1. Contributes to continuous improvement of equipment and process for reliability, productivity, yield and capability.
  1. Occasional work required in hazardous areas involving potentially dangerous electrical power, stored energy and confined spaces.
