Facilities Technician
About the Role
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept Thundermist Health Center facilities across all Rhode Island locations. This role ensures that buildings, equipment, and systems are properly maintained through routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and ongoing facility inspections. The position plays a key role in supporting a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, including attention to life safety concerns and infection control standards.
What You’ll Do
Perform general maintenance and repair work across multiple facilities
Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building repairs
Install, move, and repair equipment and furniture as needed
Replace light bulbs and complete routine upkeep tasks
Paint, patch, and repair walls and facility surfaces
Conduct routine facility inspections, identifying safety or maintenance concerns
Support cleanliness and upkeep standards across all locations
Assist with coordination of outside contractors and vendors when needed
Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Minimum of 5 years of general maintenance experience
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems
Strong general maintenance skills across multiple trades (handyman-level competency or higher)
Ability to perform physical work including walking, standing, stooping, and lifting
Understanding of basic safety standards and infection control practices in clinical environments
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently across multiple sites
Preferred:
Trade license or formal certification in a building trade
Schedule & Locations
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The Facilities Technician will travel regularly between all Thundermist Health Center locations across Rhode Island to support facility needs and ensure consistent maintenance standards across sites.

Moderate physical activity, walking, standing, stooping, and occasional lifting.
Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, respiratory disease, infectious diseases, and other bio-hazardous material requiring universal standard precautions for medical practitioners.
Manual dexterity for needed for certain medical procedures.
Organization skills, neatness; knowledge of safety and infection control standards of practice.
