Facilities Technician
Saint Paul, MN | Direct Hire | $29–$33/hr

Konik is partnering with a growing commercial property management firm to add a Facilities Technician I to their team. This junior role supports day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs across a commercial and light industrial property portfolio in the East Metro. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, is eager to learn, and thrives in a team-oriented environment where reliability, safety, and tenant service are priorities. This is a roving technician role across multiple buildings with mentorship from senior staff. Facilities Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance tasks on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems under guidance
  • Assist with inspections, filter replacements, minor equipment adjustments, and resetting devices
  • Conduct interior and exterior building walkthroughs to identify maintenance issues and report findings
  • Complete basic tenant and internal work orders, documenting work performed, materials used, and observations
  • Escalate complex or unfamiliar issues to senior technicians or the Property Manager
  • Provide courteous, professional service during tenant interactions and respond to straightforward service requests
  • Provide access and support to vendors or contractors on-site as needed

Facilities Technician Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of building maintenance or related experience (commercial experience preferred)
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Comfortable using hand tools, ladders, and basic power tools
  • Strong willingness to learn and provide excellent tenant service
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Exposure to light industrial or office buildings
  • Familiarity with work order or CMMS software
  • OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain
