Job Description
To support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of Facilities Mechanical system within our facilities on a particular duty shift or on normal hours. He is responsible for operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all plant support equipment to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations. Monitor the efficient performance of equipment and recording data that are related to energy consumption.
- Responsible during his shift duty to maintain a continuous supply of utilities in the plant.
- Perform containment action and corrective action in the event of partial or complete system interruption to ensure no impact to manufacturing.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical system including HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors and other system when required.
- Monitor and respond to any breakdowns, alarms and trouble calls.
- Conudct routine inspection and testing to ensure equipment operates within designated parameters.
- Enforce the safe practices and observations of mechanical safety measures and precautions.
- Implement and execute energy saving programs effectively and timely.
- Responsible in ensuring that all equipment are functioning satisfactorily and make entries in the appropriate log books.
- Responsible in correcting any facilities equipment breakdown and analyze how to prevent them in future.
- Be proactive in the day-to-day shift activities to ensure no utilities or equipment breakdown that affect manufacturing operations.
- Good understanding in local applicable laws, any regulations or procedures, standards/codes and ensure compliance in the work area.
- Encourage workers to report any kind of violations relating to labor, ethics and EHS.
- Support audits, and compliance related activities.
- Other duties as assigned and instructed or directed.
- Technical Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC or related technical field.
- Charge man Certificate of Competency from Suruhanjaya Tenaga will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment including HVAC, PCW, CDA, fire alarm system, etc.
- Experience in working for Facilities in Semiconductor environment will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, pumps, and other mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
- Willing to work on shifts if required
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written in Bahasa Malaysia and English with all levels of employees
- Possess strong sense of purpose and urgency and be proactive.
- Ability to collaborate and possess good team building skills.
- Able to understand schematic drawings and blueprints.
- Able to carry out effective troubleshooting of mechanical faults.
- Able to coordinate and execute plans effectively.
