Position Function
Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician supports the maintenance, safety, and overall functionality of agency buildings and grounds by performing a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks. Responsibilities include assisting with preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; completing work orders; maintaining indoor and outdoor spaces; and supporting landscaping, cleaning, and minor repair projects. This role also involves responding to on-call needs, assisting with special events, moving and assembling furniture, and supporting weather preparedness and recovery efforts. The Facilities Technician travels between sites as needed and is expected to provide excellent customer service while upholding organizational standards and ethics of ACH.
Requirements:
Education High school education or equivalent required.
ExperienceExperience in general maintenance such as carpentry, electrical (basic), grounds, janitorial, painting, vehicle maintenance, and the completion of maintenance related duties.
Functional Ability to tolerate physical activity, such as walking, standing, climbing, lifting, and squatting. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and be able to operate several types of vehicles: multi passenger vans, trucks, golf carts, tractors, and standard passenger cars. Must not have been charged with or convicted of a felony or criminal offense against a child.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to the normal hazards of light industrial environment which includes electric hand tools, welders, power saws, chemicals used for general cleaning and building maintenance. Exposure to illness and blood exists. Environment will also consist of external settings, with associated heat and cold exposures.
