Job Description

The Facilities & Workplace Services Technician is responsible for supporting daily facilities operations and workplace services functions. This is a hands-on, entry-level role requiring strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive, self-starter mindset. The position supports preventative maintenance, office moves, equipment upkeep, and general workplace operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment.

This role is best suited for someone who prefers to stay active, take initiative, and consistently look for ways to improve their environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in hands-on work, demonstrates ownership of assigned tasks and areas, and can operate independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively to a team-oriented environment with a willingness to step in wherever needed to support operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance (PM) tasks such as equipment checks, oil changes, filter replacements, and general upkeep
  • Support day-to-day facilities operations including inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance tasks
  • Assist with office moves, furniture installation, and workspace reconfigurations
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, maintenance records, and work orders within CMMS platform
  • Respond to internal service requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify issues and ensure workplace standards are maintained
  • Support vendors and contractors during onsite work and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Assist with inventory tracking of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization of storage rooms, work areas, and mechanical spaces
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper ladder usage and safe material handling
  • Lift, carry, and move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Support emergency response activities.
  • Utilize Outlook for communication, scheduling, and task coordination
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support workplace needs
  • Proactively identify maintenance or workplace issues and resolve them before they become larger problems
  • Take ownership of assigned areas and ensure they are consistently maintained to a high standard
  • Independently prioritize and manage daily workload with minimal supervision
  • Continuously look for ways to improve workplace efficiency, organization, and user experience
  • Follow up on completed work to ensure quality and user satisfaction
  • Assist in developing and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience using a CMMS platform
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general building systems
  • Experience supporting office moves or workplace services
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience (if applicable)
  • OSHA or basic safety training

Education & Experience:

  • Trade school or technical training is a plus but not required
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
