Position Overview:
The Facilities Technician II independently performs skilled building maintenance and repair work across multiple Co-op facilities. This role is responsible for diagnosing routine maintenance issues, executing preventive maintenance activities, and supporting the operational reliability of facility systems and equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Independently perform skilled maintenance and repair work including:
- - carpentry
- - drywall and finish work
- - flooring repairs
- - door and hardware repairs
- - basic HVAC maintenance
- - plumbing repairs
- - equipment repairs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot routine building, equipment, and maintenance issues
- Execute preventive maintenance programs and document completed work
- Read and work from floor plans, schematics, manuals, and maintenance documentation
- Prioritize and complete assigned work orders with limited supervision
- Support facility projects, remodels, and equipment installations
- Respond to facility emergencies and operational disruptions including after-hours situations as assigned
- Assist in maintaining inventory and recommending supply or equipment needs
- Provide guidance and support to Technician I employees as needed
- Coordinate work activities effectively to minimize operational disruption to stores and service areas
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and documentation
- Promote and model safe work practices and regulatory compliance
- Participate in departmental meetings and required trainings
- Adhere to all Co-op policies, procedures, and code of conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired Skills/Experience and Attributes:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3–5 years of commercial facilities maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of:
- - carpentry
- - plumbing
- - HVAC systems
- - building repairs
- - preventive maintenance practices
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance issues
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, schematics, and technical documents
- Experience using maintenance management/work order systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic proficiency with computer systems and documentation software
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s license and minimum age requirement of 18 years
Attendance Requirement:
This job requires the ability to work a 40-hour week Monday-Friday, flexible hours and occasional nights and/or weekends if required. Schedules are subject to change based on coverage of specific business units. This position will be on rotational “on-call” coverage.
The salary range for this position is $20.25 - $27.00. This range represents the full earning potential for the role as skills and tenure grow. The expected hiring range is $21.00 - $22.00, which supports internal equity and aligns with current budget parameters, while preserving opportunity for future increases.
