  • Creates and ensures a fun filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless execution of four star services is paramount.

  • Supervises and oversees job performance and work standards within the Maintenance department

  • Coaches’ employees while developing their skill levels using a consistent approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.

  • Allocates resources to areas that create value for our guests and to Harrah’s.

  • Endorses the business objectives, ethics and values of Harrah’s Entertainment.

  • Manages the staffing, planning and organization of work in the Maintenance Department.

  • Supervises all repairs of all facilities and equipment to assure a continuous source of light, heat, water, power and temperature control recommending necessary changes in such facilities or equipment.

  • Performs and supervises preventive maintenance and repair duties on kitchen equipment, building mechanical systems, heating and cooling systems, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other equipment on property.
  • Keep subordinates informed of changes in rules and procedures, providing guidance as required, to correct deficiencies and improve performance.

  • Maintain records and submit regular and special reports, as assigned.

  • Instruct assigned personnel with regards to safety policies and procedures.

  • Complete and route, in accordance with procedures, all reports of on-the-job injury or illness.

  • Responsible for completing performance appraisals on assigned personnel

  • Prepare property for seasonal changes (heating, cooling, and evaporative coolers, etc.).

  • Anticipate contest, promotions, tournaments, special events, etc… (special fixtures, computer lines, phones, electrical, carpentry, etc.).

  • Maintain a working knowledge of machinery, switch gears, power equipment and electrical distributors, computer networking, phone systems, etc.).

  • Maintain knowledge of current building codes.

  • Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school certification preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience of skilled trades, persons or building maintenance operation; casino/hotel experience preferred.

  • Must be knowledgeable in the safe usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Must have own hand tools

  • Must work with tradesmen side by side and take maintenance and hotel repair calls

  • Any licenses or certifications in HVAC, Refrigeration, Electronics or kitchen equipment is desired.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Knowledge in CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) computer literate.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to effectively communicate to the staff and guests

  • Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers and employees

  • Ability to communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures to persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action

  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling customer needs and concerns

  • Must be able to work in areas containing noisy environments

  • Must have physical ability to walk 5+ miles during a work day and be capable of standing during the length of one’s shift

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift a minimum of 20lbs., and ability to push, pull, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, kneel, and balance when maneuvering in the work area

  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift and mobility to move easily around entire property

  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, temperature levels, illumination, vibration, and crowds

  • Must be able to work independently and be self-supervised.

  • Must possess good reasoning and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to operate a variety of equipment, such as a man lift and various power tools.

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Earn between $59,000 - $65,000 Annual, based on experience.

  • Employment Type – Full Time

Shift Details:

  • Graves Shift 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
