Job Description
Designed to provide various experiences within the field of stationary operating engineering, the position is temporary, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, during the summer months. Areas of responsibility include resident services, preventative / general maintenance, unit turnover, and special projects as assigned.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with unit turnover including painting and other make ready maintenance
- Respond and perform to assigned resident service requests, in a timely manner with customer service standards in mind
- Recommend improvements and opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and / or building sustainability
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies, as well as keep all work areas orderly and clean
- Complete organizational and administrative assignments as directed
- Integrate health and safety precautions into daily activities
- Work effectively in an environment in which the parameters or priorities may change daily; seek to build collaboration and a positive working environment by encouraging trust and mutual respect; adjust to meet the needs of different people and situations; participate in determining and reaching departmental goals and objectives; cross train and orient other staff; keep confidential any information that is received

Skills & Experience Needed:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General knowledge of building maintenance
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Facilitates open and effective communication, cooperation and teamwork
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Computer literacy, including the ability to navigate Microsoft Office and learn new software systems successfully
- Appropriate safety equipment and apparel must be worn, including proper footwear
Physical Requirements
- Good physical health with ability to frequent stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move up to 75 pounds variable distances
- Use of ladders and ability to climb heights in excess of nine feet
- Ability to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 90 degrees or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to personally perform repair tasks without endangering themselves, residents or fellow employees
- Ability to access equipment and machinery necessary for the role, which may include high temperatures, noise, and vibration
*The anticipated pay range for this role is $18.50 per hour, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
