TKA is a Christ-centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for a Facilities Staff who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school’s Christ-centered mission. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a level of cleanliness throughout the campus and to support the school’s operations with meeting setups. The Facilities Staff is a critical position at the school, as they ensure the campus is clean, well-maintained, and safe. Success in this position is achieved by jumping in and addressing whatever needs to be done to ensure a safe and professional campus for our community.
Requirements
Essential Job Functions
Regular Activities
- Executes work orders according to daily schedule; records and reports result of each task
- Routinely cleans and maintains school property and equipment
- Keeps all facilities clean in appearance
- Frequently operates heavy machinery (eg forklifts, floor polisher, power blowers, etc)
- Cleans and maintains all fields, courts and bleachers
- Ensure athletic areas are routinely treated for weeds
- Setup athletic fields for game days
- Oversees maintenance of irrigation system
- Sweeps and power washes blacktops, sidewalks and other school areas as needed
- Assists with traffic by directing vehicles and pedestrians to ensure a safe pick-up
- Prepares rooms for meetings by setting up tables and chairs (and breaking down setup)
- Performs a variety of custodial duties as needed
- Ensure unauthorized persons are escorted off campus and the proper authorities are alerted
- Ensure management is informed of maintenance needs, theft or damage to facilities
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Valid California driver license, clean driving record
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership qualities and mentoring skills
- Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in written form
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to learn new computer software systems
- Self-starter; exercises initiative in both expected and unexpected tasks
- Completes and submits required paperwork accurately and on time
- Manages time wisely, remaining productive while working independently
- Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
- Able to work both independently and in a team setting
- Eager to acquire and apply new technical skills as facility equipment and operational needs evolve

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work performed indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, year-round
- Use of ladders, power tools and heavy machinery (forklift, carts, etc)
- Lifting and transporting heavy objects up to 75 pounds
- Work will be performed from the campus
- Will move throughout the campus during the day
- Responsibly accomplish the procurement of necessary supplies and materials, using the TKA account, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines
- Work is generally performed Year-Round, and days/hours are negotiable and will be between Monday and Friday, 2:30pm - 7:30pm and Saturday, 6:00am to 8:00pm
- Work is performed Year-Round, and exact hours are negotiable but will be scheduled on Mondays and/or Fridays between 2:30pm and 7:30pm as well as on Saturdays between 6:00am and 8:00pm
Salary & Benefits
- Pay Grid: Facilities Maintenance I
- Pay Grid Range: $26.26 - $32.02
- This position is paid based on a preset salary grid, and the actual salary will be determined by applicable education and experience as determined by the Human Resources department. The starting pay listed reflects this position's minimum experience and education requirements. The top pay range represents the top of the pay grid for this position. It is rare for a candidate to enter this position at the top of the pay grid. Most candidates can expect to enter in the lower to middle section of the pay grid, depending on experience and education.
