Weareseekingatalented andmotivatedSupervisor, a keyleadership position withinourfacilitiesOperations team.As Supervisor Facilities Services at the Mississauga Hospital siteosp, youwillplayakeyroleinensuringourhospitalremainsinthebestconditionforpatients, employeesandvisitors. Youwillbetheleadinenhancinganenvironmentthat reflects thefoundational goalsofour newstrategic plan-quality, access andsustainability.

As a key member of the facilities Operations team,you willlead and oversee allbuilding systems staff at multiple sites, including leadershipforequipmentinstallationand maintenancein accordancewith varietyof regulatorycodesand procedures.As apart of this role, you will serve as a subjectmatterexpertand liaison betweenmanagementand staff. Channelyour expertise in a highly visible leadershipposition and implementstandards that ensure safety of patients, visitors and employees.

Position

  • Plans, co-ordinates and supervises day-to-day core facility operations including overseeing allbuildingsystems at multiple sites
  • Plans,schedulesandestimateslabour,material,equipmentanddowntimetocompletemaintenanceandrepairworks
  • Oversees continuity of building base services through ensuring availability of redundantequipment and shift staff who are employed 7/24bases as wellas various tradesmen who provide maintenance and repair services to physical plant equipment and building elements
  • ReviewBAS system reports, ensures alarms arecleared,their causeisfixed andsupervises theefficient andsafeoperation of all equipmentincluding chillers, cooling towers, hot waterboilers, steam boilers, air handlers,emergencydiesel generatorandtheirauxiliaryandancillaryequipment
  • Provides leadership and clear business direction to unionized staff to ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance and repair work orders
  • Ensuresconsistentadministrationofworkrules,policiesandproceduresandprovisionsofcollectiveagreement
  • Enforces observation of guidelines,rules and regulations of health and safety as well as infection control appropriate to the area of work by his subordinates
  • Researchesspecifications,drawings and O&Mmanuals inorder to direct tradesmenfor "doing the work right the first time" when performing a task
  • Monitorsandanalyzesallenergyconservationmethods,assessesimpactandmakesrecommendationswherefeasible
  • Ensures that all work is carried out inaccordance withapplicable codes, regulations, policies, standards andguidelines; responsibleforconductingmonthlyfiredrills, and for training of staffin fire paneland otherprocedures
  • Participatesinthe HumanResourceplanningprocess,includingselection,supervisionandtrainingofemployees
  • Developsfunctionalrelationshipswithclientdepartmentsandcommitteestoensuretheirneedsaresatisfactorilymet; liaisewithstaff,stakeholders andadministratorsindeveloping, planning,implementingandmonitoringquality improvement initiatives

KeyQualifications:

  • Completion of a university/college program in Building Systems Maintenance, previous healthcare experience preferred
  • OHA/CHAdepartmentalmanagementcertificateconsideredanasset
  • PrevioussupervisoryexperienceinPhysicalPlantOperationsmaintenanceand/orplumbingrequired
  • Computer literacy inBuildingAutomation Systems (Honeywell EBI) wordprocessing, spreadsheets andCMMS preventative/demand maintenance systems is necessary
  • Strong communications and excellent interpersonal skills, combined with good analytical, problem solving and financial management skills required
  • Theabilitytoworkeffectivelyunderconditionsofmultipledemandsandtighttimelines,includingoffhours
  • Demonstratedexcellentcustomerserviceskills
