Labcorp is seeking a Senior Facilities Project Manager to join our team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37hrs

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting departments with the formation of briefs by chairing meetings in order to obtain the relevant information on when to formulate plans for new projects

  • Arranging feasibility studies and options in order to meet the company’s growth potential, the Facilities Department is required to visualise future areas of growth and design possible solutions to problems

  • Drive the procurement process with the preparation of sketches and working drawings, enabling contractors can transfer the information contained in the drawing to produce a finished item

  • Writing of specifications/schedules of works to convey the requirements shown on a drawing into a list of tasks that a contractor is required to undertake to produce the finished item with detail specifications outlining all the materials to be used

  • Preparation of contract procedures/documentation laying out the terms and conditions on which projects will be offered to contractors

  • Evaluating tenders/quotations as and when competitive tendering may be used

  • Day to day supervision of the works, to ensure compliance with the specification, tender documents and quality of workmanship

  • Arrange the formal setting up of site meetings to monitor the progress of works being undertaken

  • Financial control of any project with authority to authorise payment for work carried out. Ensuring costs do not exceed budgets previously agreed

  • Maintain site records in relation to building services, drawings, manuals and other relative information

  • In consultation with colleagues in the department, share the responsibility of maintaining a technical library for use by all in order to assist in the development of plans and strategies for new projects

  • Provide technical support on a day to day basis to the Operations Supervisor or trades persons

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering

  • Degree Construction Management

Additional Job Standards:

  • Proven supervisory experience in a project office role within facilities/construction/technical/mechanical engineering industry/ building services

  • Experience in contract negotiation and management

  • Budget management

  • Working knowledge of the relevant regulations concerning building services can be demonstrated, so that interests of the company are protected

  • Able to demonstrate a wide understanding of building design practices as applied to mechanical and electrical engineering, so that you may converse with contractors in order to obtain the best and most economic answers to our construction schedules. An understanding of “Fast Track” construction methods is essential

  • Knowledge of technical support to operations supervisors or trades persons, offering advice and solutions on problems

  • Provide support out of normal working hours in the event of site emergencies

  • An understanding of how energy conservation can be applied to building service installation, in order to provide the company with cost savings that have economic pay back periods

  • This requires the individual to be able to exercise their talent for finding answers to problems

  • Attention to detail and consistent accuracy whilst managing multiple changing priorities

  • Full, clean driving license

The Senior Facilities Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of all facilities projects for their designated site/sites. The chief goal in supporting this mission is to deliver high quality services ensuring continuous improvement, added value, increased productivity, and cost efficiencies. This position will work in close collaboration with the site Facilities Manager and network of UK Project Managers to ensure consistency of deployment across the sites while supporting diverse business needs. The position will also collaborate with EHS teams ensuring the sustainability and health & safety principles necessary to meet and exceed the company EHS targets and goals are met. Develop and manage site CapEx projects ensuring alignment with local and regional strategic plans, this will include site maintenance, break fix and growth activities. Monitor and control project budgets to ensure controlled and consistent capital spend with reliable cashflow forecast.
