Job Description

The Facilities Project Technician will focus on the large, planned maintenance projects, while making sure smaller projects are completed. This position will perform quality assurance checks on projects and make sure work orders are completed to satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will ensure that agency wide improvement projects are completed including renovations, painting, bathroom updates, accessibility modifications, and smart home technology installations.
  • Will ensure that preventative maintenance projects are completed including annual lighting upgrades, door/hardware replacements, caulking, weatherproofing programs, building/grounds audits, and quality assurance checks on jobs at many locations.
  • Will ensure that agency wide standardization projects are completed including signage review and upkeep, along with safety improvement projects. Will make suggestions on better ideas, and solutions for process improvements.
  • Will assist maintenance techs on projects, cleans and assists with general upkeep of the facilities and grounds. Will perform hands-on maintenance technician duties while ensuring projects are completed.
  • Safely operates hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborates with staff and other departments during renovations.
  • Follows company safety practices and regulations.
  • Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
  • Participates in on-call rotation.
  • Completes assigned training including agency compliance requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a year of verifiable on the job experience. Five years of building maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
