The Facilities Management Bureau within the Department of Environmental Services (DES) is seeking a Facilities Project Specialist to perform senior project management duties which include managing the design and construction phases for replacement of equipment and building shell components of County buildings, which may include major renovation projects. The County building projects include libraries, community and recreation centers, fire stations, maintenance facilities and office buildings.
Specific duties include:
The ideal candidate will be an expert in collaborating with internal/external stakeholders, have a deep wealth of knowledge in project management to include planning and scheduling, and have strong time management skills.
Minimum:
Substitution: Additional directly related experience can substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Background Check Pre-employment criminal records check will be conducted. It will include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You will be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.
Driver’s License: Applicant must possess, or obtain by the time of appointment, a valid Driver License, or the ability to use alternative methods of transportation to perform duties at other locations. If the applicant possesses or acquires a license, they must authorize Arlington County to obtain, or the applicant must provide a copy of their official driving record. Any offer of employment may be contingent upon a favorable review of the applicant's driving record.
Economic Interest Completion of the Commonwealth of Virginia Statement of Economic Interest form will be required of the successful candidate upon hire and annually thereafter.

Work Hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flexible work schedule and telework opportunities available upon supervisor approval. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
