
Independently manages projects related to equipment replacement or infrastructure system improvements for OHSU buildings. The Facilities Project Coordinator 2 is responsible for prioritization of infrastructure projects; programming and pre-design of infrastructure-related projects; developing cost estimates; managing projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget commitments; scheduling efforts to minimize impacts on the building tenants; coordinating impacts due to the project; and inspecting the work to ensure safety and compliance.
Program Prioritization
Works with the Facility Condition Assessment and Facilities Operations stakeholders to prioritize deferred maintenance and capital renewal needs and develop project programs and business cases to support funding requests.
Project Initiation and Planning
Works with customers and other stakeholders to define the scope of projects. Actively engages in design process to foresee risks and obstacles to improve project outcome. Evaluates designs for compliance with codes, standards, and regulations, energy efficiency, durability of building materials, and proper construction methods. Estimates project costs and timelines, and forecasts impacts and complications to schedule work in a way that minimizes adverse impacts on the building tenants. Obtains fiscal approval, executes contracts, and assigns duties and responsibilities to team members.
Project Execution, Control & Closure
Independently manages projects to be completed on time and within budget. Actively manages contractors and internal trades to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Reviews and maintains commissioning documents and other closeout materials. Writes project status reports and maintains project master file, documenting progress throughout the course of the project. Works in systems like AutoCAD, BIM, the Facility Condition Assessment, and the Computerized Maintenance Management System to maintain up to date system records.
Customer Service
Communicates frequently and proactively with project stakeholders regarding project status, impacts, and risks to schedule or budget. Engages customers in overcoming obstacles and takes ownership of risk mitigation and escalates issues appropriately to achieve successful project delivery.
Team Leadership
Conducts project team meetings. Interprets, organizes, and coordinates work assignments. Contributes to planning, estimating and field execution. Requisitions tools, materials and equipment in accordance with established procedures and necessary lead times. Monitors staff utilization, effectiveness, and productivity.

Four years of experience managing construction projects, with experience in healthcare and research environments, and exposure to infrastructure and technical trades. AND
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or similar area; OR
Journey-level license in a construction trade; OR
Six years of experience in building maintenance.
Must be able to work in or around: high levels of noise, extreme high/low temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, fumes and wet environments, poorly lit areas, biohazards, radioactive hazards, moving machinery and confined spaces. Flexibility in work schedules that includes “off hours” work i.e. evenings and weekends.
