
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or recognized equivalent. Journeyman-level trade or craft with 6 years’ experience maintaining a health care facility. Training or licensure provided by one of the following:
Texas State License
NCCER Certification
UTMB-approved Certifications
Community College certification or an Associate degree
Must be capable of demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a post-offer employment test as administered by UTMB Rehab Services. This job requires the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. from the floor to the knuckle and requires frequent bending, standing, and walking.
Perform at a journeyman level in at least three (3) distinct industrial/commercial trade crafts as approved by Facilities Operations and Management (Physical Plant Maintenance) or master level in one or more of the following trades/crafts (Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Electronics, HVAC, Structural, Refrigeration, Electronics/Fire Alarms) for work associated with research and healthcare specialized systems. Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Joint Commission requirements and standards, NFPA 101 2012, NFPA 110 2012 NFPA 99 2012, Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI), and ASHRAE/ASHE Standard 170.
Preferred License:
Master's Electrical License and/or 10 years equivalent experience.
