Our Facilities Team helps create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained workplace where everyone can do their best work. Based at our Netherlands sites, the team supports colleagues and works closely with all teams across the business to maintain clean, hygienic and organised communal, operational and staff spaces.

As a Facilities Operative (Cleaning), you’ll help create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone working at or visiting our Netherlands sites.

You’ll take care of workspaces, communal areas, restrooms, kitchens and other shared spaces, making sure they are cleaned, stocked and ready to use throughout the working day.

This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll spend much of your day moving around the site, cleaning different areas and responding when something needs attention. You’ll often work independently, so we’ll trust you to organise your day, maintain high standards and raise issues when you spot them.

The work you do has a direct impact on everyone on site. By keeping our workplaces clean, hygienic and well cared for, you’ll help create an environment where colleagues can work safely and comfortably.

  • Workspaces, communal areas, restrooms and kitchens are consistently clean, hygienic and well presented.
  • High-traffic areas are checked regularly and additional cleaning needs are dealt with promptly.
  • Restrooms, kitchens and shared facilities have the hygiene essentials they need throughout the working day.
  • Cleaning supplies and equipment are stored safely, kept organised and available when needed.
  • Stock levels are monitored and shortages are raised before they affect day-to-day cleaning.
  • Cleaning, maintenance or safety issues are spotted early and reported to the right person.
  • Colleagues receive a friendly, reliable facilities service and can use shared spaces safely and comfortably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete daily cleaning across assigned areas, keeping workspaces clean, hygienic and ready for colleagues and visitors.
  • Check high-traffic and communal areas throughout the day, responding quickly when additional cleaning is needed.
  • Keep restrooms, kitchens and other shared facilities clean and ready to use throughout the working day.
  • Keep entrances and external areas clean, safe and well presented.
  • Monitor and replenish soap, paper products and other hygiene essentials so facilities remain appropriately stocked.
  • Keep cleaning materials and equipment clean, organised, secure and ready to use.
  • Receive and store cleaning supplies safely, monitoring stock levels and raising shortages before they affect day-to-day operations.
  • Sort and dispose of general waste and recycling correctly and in line with site procedures.
  • Spot and report maintenance or equipment issues promptly to help keep facilities safe and minimise disruption.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues across the site, providing a friendly and reliable facilities service.
  • Respond to day-to-day facilities needs with a practical and helpful approach.
  • Keep the Facilities Manager informed of hazards, hygiene concerns, stock shortages or maintenance issues that need attention.
  • Work independently when needed while supporting colleagues and wider site priorities as part of the Facilities Team.
  • Look for practical ways to improve cleaning, storage and day-to-day facilities routines.
  • Use cleaning products and supplies thoughtfully, looking for ways to reduce unnecessary waste without compromising standards.
  • Share ideas and feedback that could make the workplace cleaner, safer, more organised or easier for colleagues to use.
  • Follow site procedures for cleaning, hygiene, chemical handling, waste disposal and workplace safety.
  • Use cleaning products, chemicals and equipment safely and in line with training and instructions.
  • Store cleaning products and equipment safely and securely.
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly, taking appropriate action within your role to help maintain a safe working environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience in cleaning, facilities or another hands-on role where maintaining high standards is important.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in keeping spaces clean and well cared for.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise your own tasks throughout the working day.
  • A reliable and proactive approach, noticing what needs doing and taking responsibility for getting it done.
  • Ability to follow cleaning, hygiene and safety procedures consistently.
  • A friendly and approachable communication style.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to carry out the practical requirements of the role, including regular movement around the site and handling cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Confidence to spot problems and raise them with the right person.
  • Experience using commercial cleaning products or equipment.
  • Experience managing cleaning supplies or stock levels.
  • Previous experience working within a workplace or facilities team.
