We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven professional to join the Finance team as a Facilities Operations - Team Leader.

About the role

In this role, you will provide operational leadership across Water Corporation’s state-wide portfolio of depots and office facilities, ensuring they are safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose to support service delivery across WA.

Reporting to the Manager Facilities and Fleet, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and contractor network to deliver integrated facilities, security and maintenance services across the facilities portfolio, and be accountable for the operational performance of JTWC, including maintenance, security and minor capital works, in line with statutory and best practice requirements.

What the role will involve

  • Provide leadership and oversight of facilities management, security, maintenance, and front-of-house services to ensure safe, compliant, and fit-for-purpose depot and office facilities across the Corporation.
  • Lead the operational facilities management budget, ensuring effective financial control and value for money outcomes.
  • Lead and optimise a network of external contractors and service providers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective facilities services and drive improved service delivery models.
  • Liaison with Team Leader Facilities Strategy and Planning to prioritise expenditure between capital and operational expenditure.
  • Liaise with project team to assist and prioritise essential items for the major works programme.
  • Long term forecasting and budgeting for future maintenance expenditure.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, driving a strong culture of safety, accountability and service excellence across facilities operations.

Key skills and experience

  • A Tertiary qualification in facilities management or relevant field
  • Extensive facilities management experience in a large geographically complex organisation
  • Substantial experience in project management of significant maintenance or minor capital works.
  • Substantial experience working in line with Building Codes and Australian Standards and Building Management Systems in a large-scale corporate environment.
  • In-depth understanding in the application and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

We’re the principal supplier of water, wastewater and drainage services in Western Australia to hundreds of thousands of homes, businesses and farms, as well as providing bulk water to farms for irrigation.

Our services, projects and activities span over 2.6 million square kilometres. We have regional offices in Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Karratha, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie which allow our employees to provide a high level of professional expertise to customers.

We’re the seventh successive agency to deal with these services in Perth, Western Australia.
