About This Opportunity

Join our team as the new Facilities Officer and play a hands-on key role providing both reactive and programmed facilities tasks across a multi-site portfolio of teaching, research and administrative spaces. This is an exciting opportunity where no two days are the same as you will be working within the EAIT Faculty and being involved with supporting a diverse range of clients and activities across a broad operational environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilities, Procurement and Logistics: Provide front line support for facilities enquiries through the EAIT helpdesk, managing a range of requests including maintenance, access, compliance and equipment logistics, and ensuring timely escalation where required. The role also supports the management of reticulated gases, coordinates building access as Key and SiPass Custodian, and manages purchase orders for minor works and services. In addition, you will provide operational support to the faculty’s central delivery point.

  • Safety and compliance related activities Undertake routine safety and compliance activities, including monthly testing of safety and eyewash stations and supporting the faculty’s Test and Tag program. Contribute to incident and hazard corrective actions and assist with other duties as required to support safe and effective operations.

  • Special Conditions: Demonstrated experience in facilities, technical or trade environments within large organisations, with the physical capability to safely undertake manual tasks, including lifting up to 20 kg, handling gas cylinders and operating equipment such as trolleys and forklifts. Experienced in activities such as electrical testing and tagging, including working in varied and sometimes physically demanding conditions.

About You

  • Trade, technical, or scientific background with extensive experience in multi-trade coordination, or a relevant bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience and training.

  • Demonstrated commitment to a high standard of customer service, and a willingness and ability to perform a wide range of operational tasks.

  • Demonstrated experience and skills in managing small projects in the area of facilities and infrastructure.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to engage effectively, in writing and in person, with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy and skills in Microsoft Office and MS Project.

  • Experience and demonstrated ability to manage small projects, and budgets.

  • Organised and methodical approach to tasks.

  • Analytical skills sufficient to assess problems and propose appropriate solutions.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work constructively to objectives with limited guidance.
