Facility Manager - Technical (Level P2)

Location: Pune, India
Education: BE Electrical Engineering

The Facility Manager - Technical is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building maintenance, infrastructure management, and utility operations at our Pune facility. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage facility operations efficiently while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination

  • Plan, implement, and maintain building infrastructure and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy consumption, and safety protocols
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance facility efficiency
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical building systems

Equipment and Utilities Management

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and building equipment
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies meet health and safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Monitor utilities consumption (electricity, water, gas) and implement strategies to minimize operational costs
  • Manage building management systems (BMS) and automation systems for optimal performance

Cost Management and Efficiency

  • Review and analyse utility consumption patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop and manage facility operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality
  • Allocate office space efficiently based on organizational requirements and growth projections
  • Implement energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs

Staff Supervision and Contractor Management

  • Supervise and lead facilities staff including custodians, technicians, groundskeepers, and maintenance personnel
  • Coordinate and manage external contractors, vendors, and service providers
  • Control and oversee parking space allocation, waste disposal management, and building security operations
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members

Financial and Administrative Management

  • Handle insurance plans, service contracts, and vendor agreements
  • Maintain accurate financial and non-financial records related to facility operations
  • Perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting on facility operations and expenses
  • Prepare and present management reports on facility performance, costs, and improvement initiatives

Client Engagement

  • Serve as primary point of contact for client facility-related matters and concerns
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and service excellence
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand requirements and ensure service delivery meets expectations
  • Address and resolve client issues promptly and professionally

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical Engineering - Mandatory
  • Relevant professional certifications or licenses (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in facility management and utility operations
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale commercial or corporate facilities
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical teams and external contractors
  • Strong background in electrical systems, HVAC, and building infrastructure management

Technical Skills

  • Expert knowledge of facility management best practices and engineering operations
  • Well-versed in building management systems, energy management, and sustainability practices
  • Understanding of statutory compliance requirements (fire safety, electrical safety, building codes)
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles for budget management
  • Proficiency in facility management software and MS Office Suite

  • Ability to supervise and motivate diverse teams effectively
  • Strategic thinking with ability to plan for long-term facility requirements
