Manages custodial staff. Manages emergency procedures, building construction and maintenance, capital assets inventory, facilities budget and contracts, and building security.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical or industrial management, or other closely related field, plus two (2) years of related experience, of which one (1) year must have been supervisory; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supervises maintenance, construction and engineering programs. Identifies current and future needs and problems. Authorizes and monitors expenditures within allocated budget.• Supervises staff, which includes hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline.• Coordinates activities of staff and outside contractors. Assures scheduled maintenance, repair, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other operational systems. Monitors and ensures compliance with applicable statutes, ordinances, fire and safety codes.• In close coordination with the Administrator Director and Fiscal Specialist, prepares and implements capital equipment and improvements plan. Revises and updates plan periodically in accordance with budget adjustment procedures.• Manages fixed asset inventory, monitors its continued application, controls acquisitions, and retirements of all surplus property.• Coordinates participation of facilities staff in the preparation, production and installation of star theater shows; researches, acquires, installs and maintains star theater equipment and/or subsystems.• Serves on various Salt Lake County advisory, policy-making or review boards or committees.

Requires occasional field work; may work in all types of weather.
May require use of personal protective equipment. Requires occasional pushing and pulling up to 75 lb, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, walking.
