Job Description

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing through aviation in over 30 developing countries. For more than 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline

One of these places is Arnhem Land, a historical region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is also a vast wilderness area, defined by rocky escarpments, gorges, rivers and waterfalls. MAF has served the people in Arnhem Land for over 45 years by sharing God’s love through aviation and technology. To continue enabling our service in Arnhem Land we require an experienced Facilities Manager.

Do you love making things work smoothly, fixing what’s broken, and keeping everything in top shape? Do you have a knack for organising people, projects, and the occasional toolbox? Then this could be your next adventure!

**NOTE: Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia. Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment background checks including a National Criminal History check. Acceptance of and adherence to MAF’s purpose, vision and values is an essential condition of employment.**

Responsibilities

🚀 The Role

As our Facilities Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for all things property and vehicles in East Arnhem Land. From hangars to houses, cars to coffee machines, you’ll make sure everything is safe, compliant, and running like clockwork.

🏠 Your world will include:

  • Coordinating maintenance across 20 houses and 2 hangars.

  • Looking after all MAF office spaces and work areas.

  • Managing vehicles (except aircraft!) to keep them road-ready and reliable.

  • Overseeing contractors, volunteers, and the occasional enthusiastic DIYer.

  • Making sure everything meets safety standards and local regulations.

🔧 What you’ll bring:

  • A practical head for maintenance and a heart for people.

  • Organisational superpowers—juggling budgets, projects, and priorities.

  • The ability to lead others, whether staff, volunteers, or contractors.

  • A commitment to doing things well—because excellence matters.

Mission Aviation Fellowship

About Mission Aviation Fellowship

Mission Aviation Fellowship was founded in 1945 by a group of WWII pilots who had a vision for how aviation could be used to help spread the Gospel.

Since those early days, we have been an indispensable partner and servant to some 500 Christian organizations, humanitarian agencies, and more. We enable and maximize evangelism and church nurturing, medical assistance, disaster response, and community development, as well as the training and development of indigenous people.

Using aviation, we desire to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ by serving together to bring help, hope, and healing. We meet the physical and spiritual needs of isolated people in 42 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Eurasia and Latin America, operating a fleet of 47 light aircraft. Dedicated missionary families raise their own ministry support to serve as the hands and feet of Christ to those in need.
