Job Description

Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. Join our team as a Facilities Manager, overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of our school building and grounds. In this role, you will supervise maintenance and custodial staff, manage vendor and contractor relationships, and ensure that all facilities-related work meets engineering standards, safety expectations, and local building codes. You will play a key role in creating a safe, clean, and supportive environment for students and staff, while maintaining strong communication with school leadership throughout the day.

Schedule Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (In-Person) Some flexibility may be required for emergencies, weather-related needs, or special events.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine servicing, repairs, and installation tasks across mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing areas.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Order, track, and maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Assist with safety drill procedures and building safety protocols.
  • Manage the annual facilities budget, estimate labor and material costs, and submit purchase requests.
  • Coordinate regular maintenance and inspections for school vehicles.
  • Supervise four team members: one Facility Maintenance Associate and three Custodial staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Aramark Best Practices and MSDS guidelines.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • BA Degree preferred.
  • Two to three years’ experience in a management capacity preferred.
  • Experience with carpentry, painting, and/or plumbing preferred.

Solterra Academy is a therapeutic day program providing comprehensive special education services to students, ages 5 to 21, who require intensive intervention due to emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning problems. Disabilities served include: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Intellectual Disabilities, Multiple Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury and Other Health Impairments. The school is designed to provide a high level of structure and support, as well as an integrated array of services to address each child’s unique profile.
