Facilities Maintenance Worker
Point Quest is hiring Facilities Maintenance Worker
Sacramento, CA | Full-Time | $22-$25 Hourly
Point Quest Education is seeking a dependable and versatile Facilities Maintenance Worker to support our non-public school (NPS) campuses throughout the Sacramento region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities, takes pride in maintaining safe and welcoming environments, and is comfortable traveling between multiple school sites to support operational needs.
In addition to facility maintenance duties, this position may assist with campus support functions, transportation needs, and special projects to ensure our schools operate efficiently and safely for students and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and minor construction projects for school buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities.
- Complete carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and general repair work as needed.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and address facility concerns promptly.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces across all assigned campuses.
- Assist with campus setup, furniture moves, classroom modifications, and special event preparation.
- Participate in required safety training and, when necessary, assist with the safe cleanup and disposal of occasional bodily fluid spills or accidents in accordance with established health and safety protocols.
Multi-Site Campus Support
- Travel between Point Quest's non-public school locations throughout the Sacramento region to provide maintenance and operational support.
- Respond to facility requests and urgent maintenance needs at various campuses.
- Assist school staff with general campus improvement projects and operational needs.
- Support site administrators in maintaining safe, functional, and student-ready learning environments.
Transportation & Operational Support
- Assist with transportation-related duties as needed, including transporting supplies, equipment, and materials between campuses.
- Support student transportation operations when appropriate and authorized.
- Operate company vehicles safely and maintain compliance with all driving and safety requirements.
Grounds & Animal Care
- Maintain basic irrigation and watering systems.
- Assist with upkeep of school garden areas and outdoor learning spaces.
- Provide routine care for campus chicken coops, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and minor repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in one or more building trades, facilities maintenance, construction, or related fields.
- Knowledge of general maintenance principles, practices, and repair techniques.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Comfortable working independently across multiple locations with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to drive regularly throughout the Sacramento region to support multiple campuses.
- Willingness to complete required safety training related to facility operations and emergency response procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, maintenance equipment, outdoor environments, and occasional bodily fluid cleanup situations requiring adherence to established safety protocols.
- Regular interaction with students, staff, families, and community partners.
- Frequent travel between school sites throughout the Sacramento area.
