Primary Function

The maintenance technician is essential to sustaining smooth, efficient production operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment including but not limited to plastic injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (i. e. chillers, dryers, grinders) and facility infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and the relocation of existing machinery.
  • Adhere to all safety protocol and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address equipment issues and implement solutions.
  • Supports manufacturing teams with advanced technical knowledge and solutions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or applicable certification preferred
  • Vocational school or junior technical college training in applicable technical areas
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience; experience in an injection molding or plastic manufacturing environment highly preferred
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems common with industrial machines
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions

Hours: 1st shift- 7:00am- 3:30pm, Monday- Friday. Some OT required during the week and possible weekends.

Pay: Starting rate at $30.86/hr. with progressions $32.49/hr. after 6 months and $34.20 after 12 months
