The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and improvement of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures that facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and responding to service requests in a timely manner.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implementing corrective actions for cranes, press brakes, lasers, welders, and related machinery.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as lighting, fixtures, doors, and flooring
  • Conduct minor carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep tasks
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs for equipment and systems
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor and maintain building systems to ensure efficient operation
  • Assist with setting up and teardown of equipment or spaces for events or operational needs
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective or preventative measures
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical certification or associate degree in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Basic computer skills for work order systems and documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, confined spaces)
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and basic repair
  • Electrical troubleshooting (low-to-medium voltage systems)
  • Plumbing repair experience

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have leadership responsibilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel as needed between Wisconsin and Iowa facilities.
