(1) Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures. Installing new water lines, valves and other necessary equipment to maintain functioning restrooms.
(2 Help in maintaining the building HVAC equipment by observing operations, changing filters, fixing drains in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly. Reporting any issues to the leadership team for major repairs.
(3) Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as walking the roof to look for possible leaks, cleaning the roof of debris, spot patching any areas until a service provider can arrive to make the permanent repair.
(4) Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries both inside the facility and out. Help in maintaining parking a drive surfaces when needed. Help direct lawn services when needed. Check doors internally and exit doors for needed repairs. Make those repairs when possible.
(5. Painting the building, wall, posts and floors when needed.
(6) Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage. Assisting other facility techs in more major repairs that require fabrication and installation of various equipment and guarding.
(7) Perform routine audit and checks on the fire system equipment including PIV, riser and pump checks. Maintain fire system logbook and fuel consumption logs on the fire pump. Participate in annual fire system audits. Help direct sprinkler service provide and assist in repairs.
(8) Assist in environmental clean up and help direct outside contractor in the clean up process.
(9) Perform hot work permits and audit of working areas before and after work is completed.
(10) Any other tasks assigned by facility leadership.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or Two (2) year associate degree in Maintenance Technologies and 1-3 years of practical experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Classes, license, and certifications required once in position: LOTO, forklift license, scissor lift license, FM Global Hot Work Permit System, and Red-Tag System.
