Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Generalist

Location: Hy-Vee Specialty Foods Warehouse

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function:

The Facility Maintenance Generalist performs preventative maintenance and general repairs.

Working Relationships:

Accountable and Reports to (Job Title): Assistant Vice President, Specialty Foods Warehouse Warehouse Manager, Specialty Foods Warehouse Manager of Compliance and Food Protection, Specialty Foods Warehouse Warehouse Supervisor(s), Specialty Foods Warehouse Asst. Warehouse Supervisor(s)

Positions that Report to you (Job Title): None

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Works under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager in the service and repair of all facility assets.
• Observes all safety and sanitation rules and regulations.
• Performs maintenance and repair of rack systems, dock equipment, lighting systems, mechanical, electrical and other physical structures.
• Performs building maintenance requiring painting structures, dry wall and plaster, masonry work and grounds maintenance.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
• Attends departmental and company meetings.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Experience Required to Perform Job:

High school education or equivalent preferred. Trade school/vocational schooling in related area preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven knowledge of machine repair.
• Ability to follow machinery safety procedures.
• General maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform the physical requirements exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.

Equipment used to Perform Job:

Must provide own hand tools. Standard shop or repair tools including hammer drill, grinders, welder, drills, skill saw, and chop saw. Frequently operates tractor, stacker, and pallet jack.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a combination of warehouse and outdoor settings. There is exposure to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemical or solvents, and electrical shock.
