We’re supporting a growing organisation within a laboratory and scientific environment to find a proactive and organised Facilities & Laboratory Co-ordinator. This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of laboratory operations, from managing deliveries and stock to supporting facilities and coordinating contractor visits.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards across operational and facilities processes.
As a Facilities & Laboratory Co-ordinator, you’ll be central to maintaining an efficient and well-organised workplace. You’ll work closely with scientific and operational teams, ensuring materials, systems, and environments are consistently managed to support ongoing work.
Manage incoming deliveries, checking goods against orders and recording stock accurately
Maintain stock levels, carry out regular stock checks, and support full stocktakes
Ensure storage areas are organised, safe, and secure, reporting any issues promptly
Support laboratory systems (e.g. temperature monitoring, gases, liquid nitrogen)
Coordinate contractor visits and support planned maintenance activities
Assist with waste management processes, including recycling and specialist disposal
Respond to internal queries regarding stock availability and deliveries
Provide day-to-day support across laboratory operations
Troubleshoot operational issues and support continuous improvement
Assist with office and facilities management tasks
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
High attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to adapt to change
Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel (experience with ordering systems is beneficial)
Clear communication and numeracy skills
Previous experience in goods-in, stores, or operational environments is advantageous
Willingness to undertake manual handling tasks where required
