Ultium Cells Overview:

Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Ultium Cells’ partners include LG Energy Solution, Ltd.; the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells, and General Motors; a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around.

The General Affairs Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing various administrative tasks and general affairs operations within the company. This includes handling office supplies, facilities management, vendor coordination, and assisting with employee onboarding and offboarding processes. The General Affairs Specialist will report directly to the Facilities Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • General purchasing, PR’s and GR’s for the facilities contracts. Purchasing would include consumable spare parts, tools, office administration supplies and Facility related items.
  • Responsible for arranging training.
  • Supporting department Managers, Part leaders, Planners, Supervisors and engineers etc. with daily tasks including HR and Payroll issues. Manpower cross crew, interviewing both crew leaders as well as future technician candidates.
  • Ensure adherence to safety compliance completions for inspections.
  • Create documentation and coordinate with quality content used in the day-to-day affairs of the maintenance department.
  • Schedule / support any external visitors, advise and coordinate with all parties
  • Managing office supplies and inventory, ensuring availability of necessary items for smooth operations.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of company events, including meetings, conferences, and team-building activities.
  • Handling travel arrangements and accommodations for employees, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation.
  • Managing mobile equipment
  • Assisting in the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing workstations, coordinating IT setup, and providing necessary resources.
  • Overseeing the management of company-wide communication channels, such as email distribution lists and internal messaging platforms.
  • Coordinating with external vendors and service providers for various office needs, such as cleaning services, catering, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of office policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Providing administrative support
  • Support implementation of BPD board

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general affairs or administrative role
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or project environment
  • Flexible and open to change
  • Strong attention to detail
