Facilities Engineer III – Harrah’s Laughlin

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and operational tasks across the property. This role requires proficiency and versatility in one or more building trades, including electrical, painting, carpentry, industrial plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, swimming pools, and general mechanical systems. Facilities Engineers must be forward‑thinking, safety‑focused, and capable of working independently while delivering exceptional service that aligns with Harrah’s customer service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair work in one or more building trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, kitchen appliances, swimming pools, and general mechanics.
  • Work proactively with a forward‑looking, innovative approach to property maintenance and problem‑solving.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and uphold Harrah’s customer service standards.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, scheduling daily tasks and prioritizing work activities.
  • Identify, order, and install correct parts needed to repair and maintain equipment properly.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas at all times.
  • Support property operations by responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Three or more years of experience in one or more building trades, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or painting.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
  • Preferred working knowledge of chemicals, pools and spas, televisions, and video systems.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and hear clearly in a variety of environments.
  • Dexterity to safely and effectively use tools and equipment.
  • Ability to walk the entire shift and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and maneuver in confined spaces.
  • Ability to run in emergency situations.
  • Tolerance for working in hot, cold, dusty, smoky, or noisy environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods when required.
