Job Description

The Facilities (FCM) Engineer is responsible for monitoring, supervising, and evaluating performance of contractors who provide maintenance, repair, and replacement of FCM equipment and systems; production equipment installation and moves; and construction activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Review work completion data and contractor recommendations for changes to PM procedures.
• Review equipment logs to evaluate trends and make recommendations to reduce operating costs and downtime
• Review production downtime data and performs or participates in root cause analysis to reduce downtime due to facilities failures. Ensure lessons learned are shared with all applicable parties.
• Review FCM KPIs. Recognize and act on negative trends and recommend or implement corrective action.
• Review maintenance reports (predictive and preventive) and make recommendations based on data to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
• Ensure compliance with KPIs to include PM completion, schedule compliance, unscheduled work, and overtime
• Screen new work requests to determine scope of work, urgency, priority, etc., and assign to contractor best suited based on capability, availability, and cost
• Conduct weekly planning and scheduling meetings to include activities by all FCM contractors
• Make recommendations for strategic equipment or system repair or replacement. Obtain budget estimates and update the FCM project backlog files
• Assist FCM Engineers in project planning and scope development
• Provide project support as needed on weekends or holidays
• Participate in department continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform N93 contractor monitoring. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and Bosch policies regarding health, safety, and environment.
• Ensure work product conforms to Bosch standards and established scope of work.
• Perform audits of completed work to include work quality, completeness with regard to scope, thoroughness of documentation
• Perform 5S and safety audits of contractor work areas to include office, shop, and storage
• Perform audits of contractor invoices and work output to verify accuracy of cost data.
• Perform work observations and make recommendations to project manager to reduce execution time and cost, or to improve work quality
• Provide direction to contractors as needed to solve problems or clarify issues
• Coordinate with others (production, logistics, HSE, etc.) to obtain downtime, permits, etc.
• Attend meetings as required to coordinate with FCM engineers and project managers to include planning/scheduling and team board meetings
• Enter requisitions to purchase services and materials, approves invoices, and tracks remaining balances to ensure compliance with purchasing policies
• Complete required procedure to document fire alarm impairment and restoration of normal system operation

KSAs:

• Familiar with operation and maintenance (preventive and predictive) techniques and procedures related to facilities equipment, buildings, and systems.
• Ability to evaluate work quality of others performing work on these systems.
• Understands and interprets equipment monitoring and controlling software and data to include HVAC, boiler, chiller, and air compressor systems
• Understands and interprets diagnostic preventive and predictive reports to include vibration analysis, oil and water analysis, infrared analysis, etc.
• Understands fire alarm system operation.
• Knowledgeable of applicable safety laws and procedures for general industry and construction (OSHA, NFPA 70E)

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BS degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial engineering, operations management, facilities management, or project management.
• 2 years of experience supervising skilled trades workers in an industrial and/or facility maintenance and construction environment.
• Proficient in use of standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience using computerized maintenance management software (SAP preferred)

Preferred in addition to the above:

• 3 or more years of experience supervising skilled trades workers in an industrial and/or facility maintenance and construction environment.
• OSHA 10 or 30 hour construction and/or general industry certificate
• OSHA 510 and/or 511 standards for construction and/or general industry
• Certifications related to this role such as CMRP, CPMM, or similar.

Ability to assist the department manager in fulfilling the specific objectives and goals set for the Business Unit.

Computer Skills:

• Must have advanced computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Axalant, and Test Software).

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Must have the ability to work in an office and manufacturing assembly environment, which could include sitting or standing for the majority of the day. Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material on an infrequent basis.
