Job Description

The Facilities Laborer / Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the production facility, warehouse, office areas, and exterior grounds. This position performs custodial duties, supports facility upkeep, assists with minor maintenance tasks, and contributes to overall workplace safety and operational efficiency.

This is an on-site hourly position and requires a daily presence at our Earth City, MO facility. The work schedule is as follows: 6:00 am to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties throughout production, warehouse, office, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and maintain floors and other facility surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, and other employee areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste materials.
• Restock restroom, breakroom, and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Clean windows, mirrors, doors, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Maintain exterior facility areas, including entrances, sidewalks, loading dock areas, and grounds.
• Assist with seasonal groundskeeping activities such as snow removal, ice mitigation, litter collection, and basic landscaping support.
• Perform minor facility maintenance tasks, including painting, changing light bulbs, assembling fixtures, and supporting preventative maintenance activities.
• Move furniture, equipment, pallets, and other materials as needed to support facility operations.
• Identify and report facility, housekeeping, maintenance, or safety concerns requiring corrective action.
• Maintain janitorial equipment and ensure cleaning supplies are appropriately stored and stocked.
• Support facility improvement projects, audits, customer visits, and special events.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years of custodial, facilities, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.

Competencies and Skills:

• Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals.
• Basic understanding of facility maintenance and repair practices.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, hand tools, and powered equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong reliability, attendance, and work ethic.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees across departments.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to manufacturing and warehouse environments and is required to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, and other safety equipment as required. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
