Job Description

OPEX Corporation is seeking to fill a full time Facilities Assistant to support daily facility operations and infrastructure projects across offices, warehouse and manufacturing environments. This role will be responsible for various hands-on tasks including, but not limited to: basic construction tasks, equipment maintenance, site preparations, materials handling and staging, and direct support to team members. This position is a 40 hour work week with full benefits. Candidates must be reliable, detail oriented, have a strong desire to learn new skills and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform general site cleanup (i.e. trash removal, sweeping, debris hauling)
• Assist with loading/unloading and relocating equipment, furniture, and materials
• Pick up and transport materials and supplies from local vendors as needed
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Basic parking lot maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with other skilled trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) as directed
• Complete general maintenance tasks and respond to facilities service requests
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required
• Valid driver’s license
• Prior construction or facilities experience is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience in a manual labor position is preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with basic hand and power tools
• Strong basic math and measurement skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and walk throughout a large building and remain on feet for extended periods of time
• A strong work ethic and ability to get the job done safely and efficiently
• Available to work over time is preferred
• A strong desire to learn, grow and develop new skills is essential

Physical/Work Environments

• Worker will be working in a office, warehouse, manufacturing environment
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, climbing and use of equipment in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
