In this role, you will:
• Support a wide variety of projects and day‑to‑day activities for Babcock Canada’s Facilities and Site Services team, with a special focus on our west‑coast locations supporting the British Columbia Helicopter Emergency Medical Services program. No two days are exactly the same!
• Be the go‑to onsite Facilities and Site Services representative, serving as the primary point of contact for all facility‑related needs. Building strong, positive relationships with end users is key—you’ll take the time to understand what they need and help deliver solutions that work for them.
• Working closely with the Facilities and Site Services Team Manager, you’ll collaborate with teammates across the Facilities and Site Services group and partner with colleagues throughout Babcock’s broader matrix organization. Teamwork, clear communication, and living Babcock’s core principles will help drive great outcomes.
• Lead projects from start to finish—from initial planning through execution and close‑out. Along the way, you’ll keep things organized by managing documentation, scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, while keeping an eye out for risks or changes that could affect progress.
• Provide clear and effective communication on project status to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This includes preparing written status updates as well as developing and delivering presentations for regular reporting cycles.
• Chair and facilitate project team meetings by preparing structured agendas, capturing detailed minutes, maintaining action trackers, and proactively following up to drive progress and accountability.
• Coordinate onsite work with trades and vendors, including preparing statements of work, overseeing activities while work is underway, acting as the main point of contact, and ensuring everything is completed safely and in line with expectations.
• Balance hands‑on problem‑solving with solid project‑management skills. Your work could range from everyday operational tasks—like checking inventory or installing simple fixtures—to supporting larger facility initiatives and developing risk registers and updating project plans. This role does involve some physical tasks, as needed.
• Follow corporate procedures, safety standards, and project‑specific requirements while maintaining a strong focus on quality and health & safety. Spot an issue? You’ll be encouraged to speak up early so it can be addressed quickly and safely.
The ideal candidate brings:
• 3–7 years of experience successfully managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including at least 4 years of hands‑on Project Management experience. You know how to juggle priorities and keep projects moving!
• A recognized university degree or college diploma in Project Management (or a related field), or an equivalent mix of education and real‑world experience.
• A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing with PMI—or the enthusiasm and commitment to earn it within your first year is strongly preferred.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A positive, resilient, and adaptable mindset. You’re comfortable shifting gears as project demands change, enjoy a bit of travel (around 20%), and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.
• Practical “handy person” skills as a foundation—formal training isn’t required, but experience in facilities management or construction projects is a definite plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal—you’re comfortable sharing information clearly with a variety of audiences.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with project management software to keep everything organized and on track.
• Eligibility to obtain RCMP criminal record check clearance.
• Basic technical aptitude and the ability to understand practical, on‑the‑ground requirements when working with trades and contractors.
