The Facilities Engineer ensures that the buildings and different aspects of the facility are following local, state and federal regulations, as well as working with architects to design the layout of the facility and any additions to guarantee that the corporate campus is being used as efficiently as possible.
General Responsibilities
• Coordinates the layouts of plant, office, and production equipment in order to provide the maximum utilization of facilities and efficiency of production
• Participates in the development of specifications and prepares detailed estimates of design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
• Assists with forming criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment necessary to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes
• Typically works on tasks that require analysis of identifiable factors and application of judgment to determine appropriate action
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
The Facility Engineer would be also responsible for maintaining all systems and equipment for protection of the company and the employees through strict protocol of the employee badge system, computer security and video monitoring. The position may include investigations and or paperwork of accident reports and theft.
Additional Job Description
• Handles, follows up on management and implementation of programs to protect the organization's facilities, properties, executives, and employees including computer security system and employee identification card system
• In case of need collaborates on internal investigations of theft, fraud, and competitor intelligence gathering, manages investigations for loss control and accident reports
• Develops and implements procedures to meet required codes and regulations. Prepares and maintains all required security manuals
• Collaborates on or leads potential internal investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies
• Responsibilities may include developing and implementing security awareness programs, extra protection for key employees, travel security assistance, and security risk assessment and planning in the area of crisis management
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and handles all contact with the appropriate agencies
• Handles any other tasks given by the line manager and upper management
