The Facilities and Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. This role supports preventive maintenance programs, responds to equipment breakdowns, and works closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in Canada. A tech understands and has experience with steel fabrication processing and must be able to use electrical tools and operate large scale machines, such as roll formers, wrapping machines, saws, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete timely repairs
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize production downtime
• Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and automated systems
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and document all maintenance activities
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning of new machinery
• Ensure all work complies with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and applicable Canadian safety regulations
• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Maintain timely and accurate maintenance records using MaintainX
• Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and engineering staff regarding equipment status
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly manage tools and spare parts
