Job Description

Position Title:  Facilitator, Multi-Tiered Support Systems (MTSS)
Division:  Family and Student Support Services and School
Reports To:  Principal
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Salary Schedule:  Teacher
Work Days:  200

Essential Duties:  
  • Ensure that students receive the appropriate levels of support across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains, following the Georgia MTSS model. 
  • Promote an integrated approach that supports the whole child by fostering collaboration among educators, administrators, and families. 
  • Provide both direct student support and ongoing training, coaching, and consultation with staff to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Create a responsive school culture that meets the needs of all learners, ensuring that all students have access to high-quality instruction, interventions, and supports, with the goal of improving overall student achievement and well-being.
MTSS Implementation and Coordination
  • Lead the implementation of the Georgia MTSS framework, ensuring alignment with district and state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to set and monitor school-wide MTSS goals and ensure fidelity in the delivery of interventions.
  • Oversee the use of data for decision-making regarding the identification of students needing support at each tier (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3).
  • Ensure appropriate and timely interventions for students based on their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of evidence-based practices to address diverse student needs.
Student Support and Case Management
  • Provide direct intervention support to students, delivering targeted instruction in small groups or one-on-one settings based on individual learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted intervention strategies for students struggling academically, behaviorally, or socially-emotionally.
  • Conduct regular data reviews to identify students at risk and collaborate with the school team to design data-driven interventions.
  • Coordinate with counselors, special education staff, and other specialists to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention plans, ensuring they are aligned with student needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Support the tracking of individual student growth and outcomes to adjust interventions and monitor effectiveness.
Professional Development and Teacher Support
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to identify students in need of academic, behavioral, or social-emotional interventions using universal screening and progress monitoring data.
  • Provide professional development and ongoing coaching for teachers and staff to build capacity in implementing MTSS practices.
  • Offer consultation services to teachers regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, and behavioral supports.
  • Assist in the development of individualized intervention plans and provide guidance on how to progress monitor and adjust plans for students.
  • Foster a collaborative approach to problem-solving with teachers, ensuring a collective responsibility for student outcomes.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Regularly collect, analyze, and interpret data on student performance, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Support the use of data to identify trends and gaps in student achievement and help make informed decisions regarding interventions and supports.
  • Assist in the preparation of MTSS reports for administrators, school leadership, and district officials, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of student progress.
School-Wide Systems Support
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive school climate that promotes social-emotional well-being and academic success for all students.
  • Work with school leadership to integrate MTSS practices into the overall school improvement plan.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the school, fostering strong partnerships among staff, families, and students.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all MTSS-related federal, state, and local regulations, including maintaining accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
  • Document and track student intervention plans and outcomes for accountability purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • Master's degree in education, school psychology, special education, or a related field.
  • Georgia certification in a related field (e.g., school counseling, special education, educational leadership).
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching experience required; previous experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Experience in a K-12 educational setting with a focus on supporting diverse learners.
  • Familiarity with educational technology platforms for data analysis and communication.
  • Strong knowledge of the MTSS framework, Georgia MTSS model, and best practices in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate leadership in school-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to work well with students, parents, staff and community is required.
  • Ability to work in a classroom and school environment and interact with students and staff.
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation. 
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators. 
  • Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.  Ability to be present at the physical worksite. 
  • Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations. 
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
