Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)
Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm
Based from Rosedale or Orewa (while the real work happens across Auckland)
Ember Support Worker Pay Rates: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (depending on qualification held and its equivalence to the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing L4, with stepped increases based on tenure)

Akiaki Ora is a well-established service within Ember, delivering community-based mental health and wellbeing support through tailored individual support and/or group programmes across the Auckland region. Through strengths-based, recovery-focused support, we work alongside tāngata whaiora to build confidence, develop life skills, strengthen wellbeing, and increase participation in community life.
Our service supports people to pursue their goals in education, pre-employment, health and wellness, social connection, and community engagement. We recognise the strengths, aspirations, and potential of every individual and support them to create meaningful pathways towards greater independence, inclusion, and recovery.
We are seeking an energetic and innovative Facilitator to support tāngata whaiora on their recovery journey through meaningful community engagement, education, pre-employment, health and wellbeing, and social connections. Working from a strengths-based and recovery-focused approach, you will facilitate one-to-one and group programmes, complete assessments, and develop Personal Goal Plans that help people achieve their aspirations.
You will work collaboratively with whānau, referrers, education providers, and community agencies to create pathways that build independence, wellbeing, and community participation.

Building interpersonal and life skills
Accessing education, training, and pre-employment opportunities
Strengthening health and wellbeing
Developing natural support networks and social connections
Increasing participation in community activities and opportunities of choice
Supporting people to achieve their personal goals
The tāngata whaiora/client-base and work location will predominantly be Northshore and Rodney.
A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4), or equivalent (or be working towards this)
Experience working in mental health, addictions, community support, or a related social services environment
Knowledge of recovery-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practice
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of people
A commitment to professional boundaries, bicultural practice, and supporting people to achieve their goals
A current Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence (required)
Valid/Current work visa, residency, or citizenship (required)
