The purpose of this position is to assist the fabrication department in all facets of welding and cage production, as well as the labor effort in the production department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Measures, cuts and welds ½-inch rod into various sizes for cage frames as needed for production purposes; occasionally fabricates steel pallets.
• Monitor raw material and finished cage inventories.
• Measure rod to proper length for designated cage style.
• Place on proper table for shaping and welding.
• Keep fabrication areas clean and organized at all times.
• Perform Laborer jobs in production and/or shipping and receiving, as required.
• Attend safety meetings/training as required.
• Must have knowledge of the following machinery and know the proper operation of each:
◦ Hydraulic Press
◦ Iron Worker
◦ Band Saw
◦ Roll Bender
◦ Mig Welder
◦ Hand Grinder
• Other duties, as assigned by Plant Manager, Shift Leader, Fabrication Leader
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have knowledge and experience in welding procedures.
• Ability to accurately and effectively use a tape measurer.
